Matcha whisk (Chasen)

A traditional and essential instrument for preparing Matcha, the chasen is a piece carved from a single piece of bamboo, to whisk green tea powder in a small amount of water. With a quick back and forth movement, the tea thus beaten takes the form of a fine emulsion as found in the Japanese tea ceremony: chanoyu.
